The Pension Service of the Velocity Interoperability Network has been formally established. The Service administers the Network Pension Scheme, the single pension scheme for the staff of member organisations of the Network. It keeps the record of every member, collects contributions from participating member organisations, calculates and pays pensions and other benefits, and reports on the membership and funding of the scheme.

With its establishment complete, the Service today launches its official website at pensions.gov.vin. The site carries the rules of the scheme, the member contribution tiers and employer rate for the scheme year beginning 6 September 2026, an account of the benefits the scheme provides, the procedure for retirement and the Service's first statistical release on the membership of the scheme.

At establishment the scheme has 14,280 contributing members employed by 46 participating member organisations, together with 1,145 members holding deferred benefits and 212 pensions in payment transferred from the predecessor arrangements of member organisations. Pensions in payment will be paid by the Service for the first time on 30 September 2026. General enquiries, and requests for a statement of membership, may be sent to contact@pensions.gov.vin.
